    How to Play Spades

    Each player is dealt 13 cards. Bid how many tricks you and your partner will win. Spades are always trump. Highest spade or highest card in the led suit wins each trick. Make your bid as a team to score; miss it and you lose points.

    Tips & Strategy

    • Count high cards. Your ace and king are near-locks; a queen depends.
    • Bid nil only with no spades and no high cards in long suits.
    • Lead from your long suit early to set up trumps.
    • Save a low spade to win a forced trick at the end.
